As a seasoned mental health practitioner with over two decades under my belt, my calling as your somatic trauma therapist is more than just a professional engagement; it's grounded in personal experience.
Having navigated my own life's traumas, having survived cancer twice, struggling with depression and PTSD in my twenties, and living through 9/11, witnessing it firsthand, and suffering the PTSD after effects for more than a year afterward, I have a unique perspective that allows me to compassionately understand your journey.

This program helps you identify when a trauma response is occurring and then helps you respond to that trauma response differently.
By responding differently, you learn to take care of yourself proactively, how to calm the nervous system in real-time, and thus, you learn to create your own understanding of safety for yourself (and your body).
Yes, trauma is reactivated when we pursue healing, but when this happens in a safe and supportive space, trauma is able to be felt without the overwhelm, and therefore, the body learns how to trust itself again.

This program is paced for you. You do not have to face anything you are not ready to face yet.
We will create resources and safe zones for you so that you can build up your confidence about working with your trauma.
The program implements a titration process (meaning we slow things down) for working with the body so that you can build emotional tolerance for difficult emotions, a little bit at a time. This is a key element of the program.
